A believer in the adage “Knowledge is Power,” Dylan Mader is a real estate professional who prides himself on both his existing knowledge and his commitment to acquiring new information.
From learning as much as he can about the history of Hoboken and the Hudson’s left bank, to delving into the nuanced specifics of properties he’s selling, to understanding everything his buyers want and need, Dylan works tirelessly to answer all the important questions his clients face before making a sound decision.
When working with buyers, Dylan quickly ascertains what does and doesn’t appeal to them, then uses his detailed knowledge of inventory to select the best properties for his clients.
“Once I clearly understand what a buyer is looking for, I narrow down the field to provide focus, not wasting one minute of their time. If the right property isn’t currently listed, I’ll use every tool at my disposal to find them an owner willing to consider a sale…”
On the sales side, his great rapport with colleagues and neighbors across the city allows him to generate and maintain excitement about a property he’s listed. His thorough preparation and choreographed entry to the market are specifically designed to maximize exposure, creating lasting enthusiasm and a sense of urgency among those viewing the property. Once interest is expressed, his negotiation skills and discipline ensure that his sellers achieve the maximum return on their investment.
“So much happens between an initial offer and the actual closing of a sale. My consistent results as an agent (Circle of Excellence 2005-2017) are due in large part to my intuition and contagious optimism when guiding diverse personalities through any rough patches that might emerge during a transaction.”
Taking none of his success for granted, Dylan is energized by and appreciative of every new opportunity. “I’m honored every time a client decides to work with me. Being chosen to manage what may constitute the largest investment in their life is extremely gratifying.”
While a student at Middlebury College, Dylan was an anthropology major who traveled abroad to study language and culture—also playing baseball—in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Along with improving his Spanish, during the Dominican semester he met his wife, a Hobokenite studying in her mother’s native country.
A 20-year resident of Hoboken, Dylan is active in the city as a board member of Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse. This completely volunteer group has given thousands of people free access to the Hudson River via kayaks and stand-up paddle-boards launched at Hoboken’s waterfront. Dylan has also coached in the Hoboken Little League since 2012
Married with three young children, Dylan is in full sync with everything Hoboken provides for families: schools, parks, museums, shopping, and events. A constant explorer, he also prides himself on his familiarity with Hoboken’s surrounds - from lesser-known urban treasures in every borough of New York to tranquil wilderness escapes nearby in the Garden State.
Having traveled extensively in Asia, North Africa, Europe, and South America, Dylan has developed cultural sensibilities that enable him to appreciate diverse beliefs and customs. “Recently, an Indian homebuyer taught me about Vaastu Shastra, the Indian counterpart to Feng Shui. It was fascinating to learn about the ancient Indian laws of nature and how they interact with architecture and directional placement of furnishings. In real estate, I learn something every day, and often that something comes from a client.”
Dylan, I have been meaning to send you this note for a few weeks. We want to express our immense gratitude and appreciation for your work on the sale of our Hoboken property. Right from the start you were superb in making this a smooth and incredibly successful process. You took the stress and hassle right off our shoulders and ran with it. Whenever a bump in the road appeared you acted quickly to rectify without any fuss. You are a true professional and a credit to your company. I would be very happy to recommend you anytime. I would also ask that you forward this note to your management.
Best regards and thanks. Justin and Casey Halliley.
Dylan, Dan and I have bought and sold about a dozen properties throughout the years, and we agree, without a doubt, you were the best realtor we have ever had the pleasure of working with. If / when we every buy or sell any property in the state of New Jersey, we will most definitely be calling you! Thank you for all your work, and for handling all the details of staging and repairs and random phone calls due to our being out of the country. You made a difficult situation very doable for us and we thank you.
Dan and Gina DiStefano
“Dear Dylan, Thank you so much for helping us find our first nest in a new land... It was a shelter to work with you. We hope to see you often when we move to Hoboken. I hope we can live up to your characterization of us as "Pillars of the Community"... To us, YOU certainly are one.”
